Champneys sells Inglewood site
By
After eighteen months on the market, spa operator Champneys Group has finally sold its Inglewood site.
The former 65,000sq ft (6,000sq m) hotel and spa is set in 55 acres of grounds near to Hungerford Park in Berkshire.
"In a strategic review following the purchase of Champneys Tring, it was deemed that Inglewood was not a viable site for the long-term plans for Champneys, due to its close proximity to both the Tring and Forest Mere resorts," said Ray Payne, managing director of Champneys Group.
The property was sold for an undisclosed multi-million pound sum to Raven Audley Court, which plans to turn the site into an exclusive retirement country house.
