Charles Reed replaces Tanni Grey-Thompson as chair for disability sports
Charles Reed has been named as the new chair of The English Federation of Disability Sport (EFDS), replacing Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson, who has been appointed as honorary president.
Two other vacant positions on the board have been filled by Gerry Kinsella and Janet Williams. They will lead the organisation into 2012 and build on the legacy for disabled people in sport.
Reed will work alongside an expanded board of trustees, made up of other member organisation representatives and business acquaintances.
He is a former director of customer service and communications for Nationwide Building Society and it was at Nationwide that he became involved with the EFDS's events programme and played a role in agreeing a £1m sponsorship deal.
