Chatsworth receives royal aide
Prince William has begun work as a farmer at Chatsworth House – the stately home which recently provided the setting for the latest film adaptation of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice.
The two-week stint fits in with the Prince’s ambition to run an estate and is the first work experience he has undertaken since obtaining a art history degree from the St Andrews University in June.
Chatsworth House was transformed into a thriving business by the late Duke of Devonshire, and his wife, Deborah Mitford.
It currently welcomes more than half a million visits each year to its 35,000 acres of parkland and famous art collection. Details: www.chatsworth-house.co.uk
