Cheadle Sports Village completed
Staffordshire Moorlands District Council (SMDC) has taken control of the new £883,000 Cheadle Sports Village after contractors completed construction work on the scheme.
A pavilion has been created to accompany two new adult sports pitches located in Thorley Drive, while other improvements have focussed on South Moorlands Leisure Centre. A floodlit synthetic pitch that can be divided into two smaller pitches has been constructed at the leisure centre, while a junior grass pitch has also been installed.
SMDC portfolio holder for leisure, sport, parks and countryside Mark Deaville said: "This project has revitalised the town's sports facilities and is giving many more people a chance to play sport."
