Chelsea Hotel for sale
The iconic Chelsea Hotel in New York, US, is up for sale.
The 128-year-old Bohemian hotel was once home to Bob Dylan, was immortalised in song by Leonard Cohen and was also the location that Sex Pistol Sid Vicious killed his girlfriend Nancy Spungen in 1978.
The hotel has been owned by three families for the last 65 years, but they have announced they want to sell.
In a statement released on Tuesday (19 October), Paul Brounstein, shareholder and hotel board member, said: ""For 65 years our families have dedicated their lives to making the Hotel Chelsea what it is today, but now it is time to let a new owner, with perhaps some new innovative ideas and resources, to reenergise and revitalise the Chelsea.
"Regardless of who owns the hotel, the Chelsea will always be the Chelsea. We know that the Chelsea will always be an artistic enclave where the great creative minds of the past, present and future generations come to visit."
