Chester Zoo chooses Barenbrug
Barenbrug has re-turfed 1,500sq m of Chester Zoo using its Lindum RTF Turf product.
A rhizomatous (underground stem) species of turf, it has deep rooting capabilities down to a distance of up to 1.5m underground, giving it a high level of tolerance to both waterlogging and drought.
Areas that have been re-turfed include the picnic area, Condor Aviary and the recently opened Jaguar Coffee House (pictured).
Following the installation, the zoo - the country's most visited - has made a further order of another 1,000sq m of the RTF, which will cover a restaurant outdoor seating area amongst others.
