Chilli Peppers head to Don Valley Stadium
Sheffield International Venues (SIV) has announced it is to play host to the Red Hot Chilli Peppers this July at Don Valley Stadium.
The venue recently welcomed Oasis and the Rolling Stones are set to play there in August.
Steve Brailey, chief executive of SIV, said: “Having the Red Hot Chilli Peppers appear in Sheffield is a great boost to the city.
“It will be one of the biggest music events ever to be staged in Sheffield. It sets Don Valley Stadium as an iconic musical venue and now one of the first choices in the UK for outdoor concerts.
“Tourism in Sheffield is growing rapidly and this is also very good news for the region’s hotels. Events like these attract thousands of music fans from Sheffield and across the United Kingdom and this will raise the profile of the city.”
