Chinese chain for 24 Hour Fitness
US chain 24 Hour Fitness has announced a partnership with five-times NBA All-Star Yao Ming to open its first health club in mainland China.
The signature sports club, called California Fitness – Yao Ming Sport Club, will be located to the west of Beijing’s central business district.
The 3,700sq m (40,000sq ft) club will offer a gym, a 3-on-3 basketball court, two Group X® studios, a cycling studio, Xpress® Zone, a stretch area and sauna and steam facilities.
It also features a ‘Powered by You’ section from Motorwave, which uses human energy to create electricity to run fluorescent lighting in the club.
