The 770,000sq m (8.3m sq ft) Fantawild Adventure will have three zones, featuring Chinese culture, African culture and global culture and aims to introduce Chinese cultural masterpieces and classic ancient stories to the South African public.
The project is being developed by Huaqiang Holdings, with support from the China Development Bank, the China-Africa Development Fund and the Industrial Development Corporation.
Work is expected to begin by the end of 2009 and take around three years to complete.
The park is expected to attract between two and three million visitors a year.
