Choice boosts mid-market portfolio
Choice Hotels Europe (CHE) has continued the UK expansion of its mid-market brand, Quality Hotels, by acquiring the Holiday Inn Gatwick hotel.
CHE will now spend £2m on refurbishing and re-branding the property, in order to incorporate it into its Quality brand.
The 221-room Quality Hotel Gatwick will be the largest Choice hotel in the UK while facilities include two restaurants, conference rooms and a leisure centre equipped with a sauna, solarium and a swimming pool.
The hotel, which began operating as a Quality Hotel on 28 June, also holds a wedding license and runs a shuttle bus to and from Gatwick airport.
Paul Fitzgerald, general manager of the Gatwick site, said: “We are joining CHE at a time of growth and expansion. We hope that the refurbishment and investment plan will strengthen our levels of service and excellent accommodation provision at the Quality Hotel Gatwick.”
CHE operates the Comfort Inn, Sleep Inn, Clarion and Quality brands across 14 European countries with more than 500 properties. Details: www.choicehotelseurope.com
