Choice refurbishes in-house gym facilities

Choice Hotels Europe has recently completed a £500,000 refurbishment of in-house fitness facilities.

Choice – whose account was recently renewed by contract managers 3D Leisure – has over 125 hotels in the UK, of which 15 offer fitness clubs.

All 15 sites have been refurbished, with a focus on investment in new equipment – cardiovascular equipment has been supplied by Precor in a deal worth £400,000 across the 15 sites.

Choice operates predominantly small clubs, which are open to the public as well as hotel guests.

Average club size is 500sq m (5,400sq ft), with facilities generally including a gym, swimming pool, sauna, steamroom and sunbed. A larger site at Scotch Corner – measuring 1500sq m (16,200sq ft) – also offers a studio, plus beauty and hair salons.

Target membership is up to 750 members per site, with 4,500 already subscribed across the 15 clubs.

More clubs are planned following the relaunch of the 15 existing facilities, although further details are not yet available.
