Christchurch's RWC games rescheduled
Three of the five Rugby World Cup (RWC) 2011 fixtures due to take place in Christchurch, New Zealand, will now be held at Nelson, Dunedin and Invercargill on the South Island.
Five pool matches have been reallocated following the impact of February's earthquake, with the remaining two set to take place in Wellington and North Harbour. Meanwhile, Auckland's Eden Park will host the two quarter finals that were originally due to take place in Christchurch on 8 and 9 October.
RWC chair Bernard Lapasset said: "Following the difficult decision to transfer the Christchurch matches all involved have worked hard to confirm the new venues as quickly as possible." It has also been revealed by organisers that the new, fully-enclosed Otago Stadium, Dunedin, has met the criteria to be used as a RWC venue.
