Clinton Foundation's Health Matters conference 2014 kicks off in California
The 2014 Health Matters: Activating Wellness in Every Generation conference in La Quinta, California is now underway, with the event looking to promote health and wellness throughout the United States.
The three-day event, which began yesterday, welcomes speakers and industry members from across the business, technology, sports and philanthropy sectors to network and promote ideas related to health and wellness.
Now in its third year, the annual conference is led by the Clinton Foundation, whose Clinton Health Matters Initiative seeks to encourage individuals, communities and organisations to make meaningful contributions to the health of others.
Panel discussions are to take place on health transformation, with the talks moderated by former US President Bill Clinton.
There will also be talks on physical activity with fitness expert Denise Austin, as well as debate on mental health and prescription drug abuse prevention.
Chelsea Clinton is also set to moderate a debate on leveraging digital platforms to promote health, while other discussions focus on the health care divide and promoting healthy lifestyles.
The conference has also attracted a number of American celebrities, with the likes of Kobe Bryant, Barbra Streisand, the Rev. Rick Warren of Saddleback Church, Montel Williams and Billy Blanks all in attendance.
A full schedule of events, as well as a live webcast from the conference, is available here, while Twitter users are being asked to join the dialogue with the hash-tag #HealthMatters2014.
