Club Company completes Tytherington revamp
Health club operator The Club Company has completed a £2m redevelopment of the Tytherington Club in Macclesfield.
The nine-month project has added a third dance studio to the site, which will host mind-body classes, such as yoga and pilates.
The most significant aspect of the project is the introduction of a poolside spa facility for adults.
The spa, designed by interior designers Douglas Wallace, incorporates four treatment rooms, a large hydro pool and sauna and steamroom as well as a dedicated health and beauty area.
The spa is part of The Club Company's strategy to roll out a number of spas under its Aura brand, and will offer treatments for both men and women.
The 4,310sq m club will be the fourth site in the company’s estate to offer a spa service to both members and non-members.
The work also included the remodeling of the reception, retail areas and the club's creche. The function rooms and hospitality facilities have also received a complete refurbishment.
According to Thierry Delsol, chief executive of The Club Company, the redevelopment is part of a strategy to regularly upgrade clubs in the portfolio.
He said: “We continually review the offering at our clubs and allocate appropriate funding to improve and develop our facilities.
"Despite, or due to the current climate, we need to look forward and enhance members’ experience through better facilities and excellent service."
