Community use proposed for Herne Bay land
Land between Herne Bay and Whitstable, Kent, is to be turned over for community use after being secured by Age Concern (Herne Bay) and the local council.
A new Age Concern Community Centre is to be created on a 1-hectare (2.5-acre) site, while the remaining 8 hectares (19.8 acres) will be used by Canterbury City Council. Proposals for the council-owned land - transferred from George Wilson Developments - include use as a nature reserve or public open space.
