Como Hotels to open hotel in Bhutan
By
Christina Ong’s Como Hotels & Resorts is to open a luxury property in the Kingdom of Bhutan.
On a 38-acre site, Uma Paro will open in May 2004 and offer 20 hotel rooms and 10 villas, a restaurant and bar and Shambhala Spa with yoga room, spa pool, sauna, gym, two twin and one single treatment room and an indoor pool with an outdoor sundeck.
The design – which will feature traditional elements of Bhutanese architecture – has been created by a team including architect Yew Kuan, who designed the new Rocky Point villas at Parrot Cay and interior designer, Katherone Kng of ID Design, who worked on Como’s Metropolitan Bangkok, which opened this month.
Como also offers Shambhala Spas at its Parrot Cay and Cocoa Island in the Maldives.
