Conde Nast Traveller award winners
The winners of the 2009 Condé Nast Traveller Readers' Travel Awards have been announced.
The top Destination Spa was revealed to be the ZARA Spa at the Mövenpick Resort and Spa Dead Sea, Jordan. This was followed by Chiva-Som in Hua Hin, Thailand, and Ananda - in the Himalayas in India.
In the Overseas Hotel Spas category, the spa within the Pezula Resort Hotel & Spa in Knysna, South Africa, was first, followed by two Thailand-based spas: the spa at Anantara Hua Hin and Pathways at The Sarojin in Khao Lak.
Topping the UK Hotel Spas list was The Spa at Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park in London, followed by the C-Side at Cowley Manor, the Calcot Spa at Calcot Manor in Gloucestershireand Sequoia at The Grove in Hertfordshire.
With a total of 26 categories, each top 10 was compiled from the answers to questionnaires, which were inserted in copies of the April 2009 issue of Condé Nast Traveller as well as being simultaneously posted online.
Figures for all criteria are percentages that represent the overall average levels of satisfaction with the facilities or services. Details: cntraveller.com
