Conference to increase participation in school sports
A national conference organised by the Youth Sports Trust (YST) to look at to increasing young people’s participation in physical education and school sport, kicks off this morning.
The two-day conference at the East Midlands Conference Centre in Nottingham will investigate the theme”Working together: increasing participation by engaging young people”. Around 600 delegates are expected to attend and will see presentations by spots minister Richard Caborn, junior schools minister Stephen Twigg and YST chief executive Sue Campbell.
The first day of the conference is aimed at partnership development managers and local education authorities, while the second day will include representatives from national governing bodies of sport and county sport partnerships.
