Cosslett welcomes 'excellent year' for IHG
InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) chief executive Andrew Cosslett has welcomed an 'excellent year' for the company, after global RevPAR grew by 6 per cent in 2010.
In its preliminary results for the full year ending 31 December 2010, the hotel group also reported a 22 per cent increase in operating profit compared with the previous year. Cosslett said: "After a slow start to the year, the industry staged the sharpest recovery in its history, exceeding all expectations.
"By focusing on our brands and using our scale, we delivered 6 per cent growth in revenue per available room."
