Cotton House opens
A new restaurant and bar called The Cotton House has opened in Manchester.
Costing approximately £600,000, The Cotton House site is situated in a Grade II listed Victorian cotton warehouse and split into three main areas – a 120-cover restaurant, a large main bar and a mezzanine champagne bar.
Boasting 20ft ceilings alongside cast-iron columns throughout the building, architects Mueller Kneer had a brief which centred on retaining the industrial character of the building while adding a number of contemporary elements.
The menu has been created by Stephen Mcloughlin, who spent three years as head chef at Marco Pierre White’s River Room restaurant and has created a selection of dishes that combine classic British produce with Mancunian-sourced ingredients and spices.
The cocktail list for both bars at The Cotton House was devised by the London Cocktail Club’s Henry Besant and Andres Masso and will include a rosehip and hibiscus margarita and the quince sour, made with Glinneparas five-year-old whisky and organic quince jam. Details: www.thecottonhouse.com
