Council backs Dumfries 3G pitch proposals
Plans for the development of a full-size 3G synthetic sports pitch in Dumfries have received the backing of the local authority.
Dumfries and Galloway Council's (DGC) resources committee agreed in principle to the project, although the selection of the location was deferred to its Nithsdale Area committee. The three potential sites outlined by DGC are King George V Sports Complex - preferred by the local football community; St Joseph's College; and Maxwell High School.
A council report found that the St Joseph's College option would offer the lowest cost of the three sites, at £525,000.
