Council clarifies position over Chester's Redgrave Sports Science Institute
Cheshire West and Chester Council (CWCC) chief executive Steve Robinson has clarified the local authority's position over the city's proposed new Redgrave Sports Science Institute.
Some councillors had raised concerns from residents that CWCC had supported a bid to develop the new facility as part of a student village scheme between Mollington and Blacon.
Robinson said: "Suggestions that this authority or any of its officers have indicated support for a site-specific suggestion with regard to the Redgrave proposal are totally unfounded."
CWCC said it is currently awaiting the submission of a planning application for a combined student village and the Redgrave Sports Science Institute from Bell Developments.
The sports, health and wellbeing complex is expected to include a gym, a high performance suite and a sports injury clinic, as well as lecture space.
