Council reveals New Church Farm play plans
West Lancashire Borough Council (WLBC) has unveiled plans to create new and improved play facilities worth £102,000 at New Church Farm in Skelmersdale.
Local residents were given the opportunity to comment on the proposals for the Tanfields site, which is set to boast a new children's play area; an enclosed multi-use games area; and skateboarding equipment. However, a proposed teenage shelter did not receive the support of the community and will not form part of the scheme. Play manufacturers will now be invited by the council to submit designs.
WLBC portfolio holder for community services and health Andrew Fowler said: "It's important that local people are happy with the design and layout of the proposals, so we want as many as possible to see the plans and have their say." It is hoped designs will go on display in mid-autumn, with work expected to start soon after.
