Council secures funding for Yeovil facility
South Somerset District Council (SSDC) has moved a step closer to providing a new sports facility for Yeovil after securing £593,000 towards the project.
First proposed in 2007, the multi-purpose pitch is to be used for hockey, football, tennis and netball and will be funded with the help of £117,000 from the England Hockey Board. Barratt Homes has contributed £476,000 towards the facility, which will be used by Yeovil College and other schools during the day. Local residents will also be able to use the venue.
