Council seeks Cherry Hinton Hall feedback
Cambridge City Council (CCC) is inviting local residents to comment on its plans for the future of Cherry Hinton Hall, which will include a derelict area formerly occupied by a propagation centre.
Proposals drawn up following initial consultation with the Friends of Cherry Hinton Hall earlier this year include reintegrating the derelict area back into the park and the restoration of historic features. Upgraded toilets and footpaths and improvements to the pond area and the wider landscape are also mooted as part of the council's masterplan, which is the subject of consultation throughout August.
CCC green space manager Alistair Wilson said: "The plans look exciting, and we've been guided all along by what people told us about the park, its ethos, and its history and heritage. "We think we've succeeded in preserving that, whilst at the same time creating a park that will better meet the needs of local people, as well as those who come to the various events that take place there over the year."
