Council to consider Flint Pavilion proposals
An eight-lane ten pin bowling alley and a four-rink indoor bowls facility could be created at Flint Pavilion Leisure Centre, North Wales, under plans to be considered by councillors.
Flintshire County Council's (FCC) executive will meet on 15 March to discuss the scheme, which could see nearly £1.8m invested in upgrading the venue's facilities. A soft play area and cafeteria with party rooms; studio space; and a refurbished fitness suite are also among the proposals to be considered by the local authority.
It follows a report conducted by FMG Consulting on behalf of FCC, which revealed that ten pin bowling is worth an estimated £286m to the national economy - a figure set to increase. Flint Pavilion Leisure Centre currently boasts a 25m swimming pool; a fitness suite; a health suite; and multi-purpose areas. FCC is working in partnership with Alliance Leisure.
