Council to 'fast-track' Hobart ice rink plans
Hobart City Council (HCC) is to "fast-track" plans for the construction of a new ice rink as it continues work on a strategy to boost winter tourism in the Tasmanian city, Australia.
A large number of ideas to increase events and tourism in the city have been generated, but the ice rink vision has been identified as a standalone project to ensure quicker completion.
The developer leading plans for the venue is to outline the proposals next week before they are submitted to HCC next month, according to Australasian Leisure Management.
