Council to secure land for Slough scheme
Slough Borough Council (SBC) has served a compulsory purchase order (CPO) in a bid to secure land that forms part of the proposed site of a new learning and cultural centre.
The council is looking to purchase part of the existing Code building and plots forming part of the Prudential Yard as part of efforts to move forward with The Curve development. SBC commissioner for neighbourhoods and renewal James Swindlehurst said: "We had hoped the CPO would not be necessary but we cannot delay the project with further negotiations.
"We can now move forward with our preparations for starting work on what will become a great new community complex that will put learning and culture at the heart of Slough's future."
