Crealy Park's Angela Wright scoops new accolade
A founding member of one of the most popular tourist attractions in Devon, UK, has been recognised in the Queen's New Year Honours List.
Angela Wright of Crealy Adventure Park was awarded an MBE. Wright created the park on her family's farm in 1989. The park has since grown to be a major attraction with upwards of half a million visitors each year.
Wright, who lives on site at Crealy with her husband, David and five children ranging in age from four to 16, said after the news: 'I'm really thrilled and honoured. Crealy came about from an idea I had in the 1980s. I had an idyllic childhood growing up in East Devon and I wanted to give children the same kind of experience I had growing up. We have just been going from strength to strength and we are always adding new attractions.
'I am proud to get the MBE, but I'll be accepting it on behalf of everyone who works so hard to make Crealy what it is.'
