Cricklade Hotel changes hands
Ambienza Hotels has acquired the 46-bedroom Cricklade Hotel & Country Club in Wiltshire from a private owner for an undisclosed sum.
Ambienza is run by hoteliers Phil & Val Harris. The company currently owns the boutique Cotswolds88hotel in Painswick, Gloucestershire and its sister hotel, Château de Sanse in south west France.
Facilities at Cricklade Hotel include a restaurant, six conference rooms and extensive leisure facilities, including a nine-hole golf course, outdoor tennis court, indoor pool, beauty spa, steam room and gymnasium.
Neil Scott, group general manager for Ambienza Hotels, said: "We are putting together an extensive programme of improvements for the hotel.
“Our goal for the hotel is to become one of the best 4-star hotels in the region. I am confident that we can achieve this within 18 months. The food & beverage operation will now be under the watchful eye of Lee Scott, group executive head chef."
Leisure property specialist Christie + Co acted on behalf of the private owner on the deal.
