Curzons chain goes to Fitness First for £6m

Whitbread has sold its chain of Curzons health clubs to Fitness First for £6m, it was announced today, so the group can concentrate on the premium health club sector with its David Lloyd Leisure brand.

The 12 Curzons clubs, which are all situated in London, will be upgraded and integrated into the Fitness First portfolio over the next six to 12 months.

Curzons currently has 13,000 members and will increase Fitness First's holdings in the region to 38 clubs.
