DC Leisure has continued on its quest for excellence this month, with two of its sites, Farnborough Leisure Centre and Aldershot Indoor Pools, achieving over 80 per cent in their recent Quest assessment.

Quest is the UK quality scheme for sport and leisure, delivered in partnership with Sport England.

Farnborough Leisure Centre was awarded an 'excellent' 88 per cent and Aldershot Indoor Pools a 'highly commended' 80 per cent. With nearly 1,000 facilities being registered under version 4 of Quest, Farnborough's score ranks the leisure centre in the top 10 of the country and second within the DC Leisure Group.

The facilities, owned by Rushmoor Borough Council, have been managed in joint partnership with DC Leisure since February 2002. The assessors recognised the substantial and continued investment into the facilities which included a £3 million face lift to Farnborough Leisure Centre in 2004.

Duncan Mackay, Contract Manager for both Farnborough Leisure Centre and Aldershot Pools, comments: "Our recent Quest scores are testament to the hard work and commitment of our staff. They also highlight the excellent working partnership that we have with Rushmoor Borough Council. The Quest framework is an opportunity for any leisure manager to ensure that best practice is utilised to develop and continually improve the way the facilities and services are managed."

Ashley Sharpe, Principal Contracts Manager for Rushmoor Borough Council, says: "These results act as an endorsement to how well the leisure facilities are being operated. Through our partnership with DC Leisure our facilities are among the top performing sites in the country.''

The average Quest score nationally is 74 per cent. DC Leisure is currently the top performing leisure contractor with an average score of 78 per cent.
