Health club operator DC Leisure has signed a five-year agreement with the Amateur Swimming Association (ASA), which will see the operator continue to offer teaching programmes from complete beginner to pre-competition development under its Swimming Academy.

The Academy, which runs at 65 sites across the country, will follow the ASA National Plan for Teaching Swimming (NPTS) for the next five years.

The Academy will also continue to employ the Kellogg's ASA Awards Scheme, which awarded more than 100,000 certificates for advances in swimming to its pupils last year.

In addition, Aquamark, the ASA’s Programme Quality Scheme, will be rolled out across the group, providing DC Leisure with a framework to ensure that it is delivering a high quality, best value scheme in terms of teaching, administration and customer communication.

Meanwhile, the ASA has become the official training provider to the organization, providing ASA teaching and coaching qualifications, a structured CPD programme, career development opportunities for lifeguards and Institute of Swimming (IoS) membership for teaching and coaching staff.

“This partnership with the ASA is great news for DC Leisure,” says Mark Haslam, DC Leisure’s swimming group manager. “Our organisations enjoy a great synergy and I’m sure that, with the ASA’s support, we will ensure that our team of swimming teachers and coaches across the group continue to deliver consistent service excellence.”
