DEFRA launches Big Tree Plant
DEFRA has launched The Big Tree Plant, aimed at planting one million extra trees in urban areas across England.
The four-year, £4m campaign is a partnership between The Tree Council, Woodland Trust, Trees for Cities, England's Community Forests, DEFRA and the Forestry Commission. DEFRA's Jim Paice said: "Using the enthusiasm of local communities and the knowledge of the groups that know most about trees, the scheme will see trees planted in areas where people want and need them."
