David Lloyd attains FIA code compliance
David Lloyd Leisure (DLL), one of the UK's leading health club operators, has announced that it is now compliant with the Fitness Industry Association's (FIA) Code of Practice.
The quality assurance scheme - introduced to the sector by the FIA in 2007 - encompasses performance standards relating to health and safety; staff training; and customer care. Facilities that are compliant with the Code of Practice are required to demonstrate that staff are trained to standards recognised by the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs).
Compliant facilities also have to ensure members receive adequate inductions; and provide fair contracts in accordance with the Office of Fair Trading guidance. DLL sales and operations director Steven Matthews said: "This recognition compliments our externally audited programme and confirms that both its teams and members are provided with a safe environment in which to work, exercise and engage in leisure activities.
"What's more, it provides current and potential members with the peace of mind that we operate to the highest standards of both facilities and expertise." FIA chief executive officer Dave Stalker added: "[DLL's compliance] demonstrates it is working to strict performance and safety guidelines for the benefit of their members and staff."
