Davines Group and Rodale Institute join forces to launch regenerative organic research centre

We hope our partnership will not only positively impact our product development and supply chain but also serve as a catalyst for change
– Davide Bollati

Davines Group has partnered with the Rodale Institute to unveil a dedicated regenerative organic agriculture research facility at Davines Group's headquarters in Parma, Italy.

This integrated partnership is an effort to propel the regenerative organic movement beyond just food to both beauty and personal care.

regenerative agriculture is not intensive, and is respectful of biodiversity, while also contributing to soil fertility, meaning it can capture as much, if not more, CO2 as trees, while also keeping soil nourished.

The new facility will encompass a 10-hectare site and focus research and education on small- to mid-size European farms growing speciality crops for beauty, nutrition and food.

Supporting farmers in the region, this centre will also focus on organic management in a Mediterranean climate.

Headquartered in Pennsylvania, US, Rodale Institute is a nonprofit dedicated to growing the organic movement through research, farmer training and consumer education.

“Partnering with Rodale Institute is a collaborative way to take greater steps on our journey to making the world a more beautiful place through beauty, ethics and sustainability,” says Davide Bollati, Davines Group owner and chair.

“We hope our partnership will not only positively impact our product development and supply chain but also serve as a catalyst for change that will animate sustainability studies and regenerative organic farming practices in Italy, Europe and beyond.”

Scientists and staff at the centre will study alongside the Davines Group Research & Development lab to find ways in which regenerative organic agriculture can influence the supply chain of personal care products while simultaneously helping to mitigate climate change.

These efforts will not only support local farmers and the international regenerative organic community at large but will also help to elevate regenerative organic sourcing in the emerging consumer and packaged goods space.

With sustainability at the core of its philosophy, Davines Group has already led the way in the relationship between food, farming and personal care with its Slow Food Presidia projects, supporting local small producers through Davines’ Essential Haircare line and through sourcing of ingredients from regenerative agriculture for Sacred Nature – the Cosmos certified organic and natural skincare line by Comfort Zone.
