De Vere Group bouyant
The De Vere Group has issued an upbeat trading statement for the half-year ended 1 April. De Vere Hotels RevPAR was up 7.1 per cent and Village Leisure Hotels RevPAR is up 3.1 per cent. Group health and fitness membership is now 93,000, up 18.6 per cent in the half-year. Peter Daresbury, chair says turnover in the hotels and fitness businesses is up significantly: 'Sales growth has benefited from new Greens and Village Leisure openings, as well as the acquisitions of St David's and Carden Park Hotels, and more recently, the Cavendish Hotel in London. The disposal of Tavern was concluded and now effectively completes the restructuring of De Vere Group.
