Deloitte highlights England 2018 strengths
Premier League matchday revenues and existing stadia are among the important commercial strengths of England's 2018 World Cup bid, according to Deloitte.
Compared with its rival bidders, England will not require significant investment to upgrade venues, having already invested more than £3.5bn since 1992-3. Meanwhile, Premier League games during the 2008-09 season generated in excess of £560m in matchday revenues - more than £200m ahead of Spain's La Liga.
Dan Jones, head of the sports business group at Deloitte, said: "From a commercial perspective, [England] will enable FIFA to generate funds for investment in football development around the world."
