We’re thrilled to be enhancing our experience to further showcase our commitment to drive ecotourism in this prolific wildlife area

In April 2021, a secluded wildlife safari camp in Botswana will reopen, unveiling revamped facilities plus an all-new luxury desert spa with stunning views of the movements of mega herds of Elephants.

DumaTau Camp has been open since 1997 as a part of luxury safari operator Wilderness Safaris’ offering in the Linyanti Wildlife Reserve in Chobe National Park, and in 2020 the company announced plans for a rebuild as well as the introduction of Little DumaTau – an exclusive and intimate camp experience with new wellness facilities.

The African destination will reopen with a new wellness space, one-treatment-room spa, gym and deli, scenically located between the two camps and overlooking the camp’s wildlife-rich Osprey Lagoon.

The spa itself will be slightly set apart, tucked into the surrounding vegetation for a secluded, peaceful and relaxed atmosphere.

While the wellness menu is currently under development, Little DumaTau has revealed that guests can expect a line-up of massages, facials and nail services.

Treatments will be supplied by product house Healing Earth, which draws inspiration from ancient African healing traditions.

“We’re thrilled to be enhancing our DumaTau experience to further showcase our commitment to drive ecotourism in this prolific wildlife area,” said Kim Nixon, Wilderness Safaris Botswana MD.

The opening of Little DumaTau will also see the launch of new accommodation, in the form of four tented-suites, plus decks with indoor and outdoor showers, plunge pools and an outdoor star-gazing bed.

Before the overhaul, DumaTau was home to seven intimate 142sq m tents plus one family suite.

Wilderness Safaris has pursued the upgrades sensitively with the intent to preserve the untouched wilderness and natural beauty that surrounds the camp.
