A contrast therapy and breathwork facility called Reset has opened in Islington, London, in the UK.

Founder Oliver Horsford established the business after a decade of running charter and private vessels, which caused him to experience burnout. He found breathwork, paired with contrast therapy, changed his perspective: "Reset stemmed from a personal journey of burnout and disconnection. Finding breathwork and contrast therapy changed everything, it saved my life. Finding these tools wasn’t easy. There wasn’t a clear path, a supportive community, or a place to truly commit and transform. That’s why I created Reset. Looking around London, one can see and feel that people are on autopilot, consumed by busy city life and stress.

"Reset is a space designed to help you break the cycle of burnout and disconnection with compassionate, authentic guides who walk with you from the moment you arrive," added Horsford. "We give you the tools, practices and support to reconnect, recover and reset physically, mentally and emotionally."

The 3,000sq ft space features a 34-person traditional Finnish Sauna, manufactured by Finnmark Sauna. Sauna rituals use four different blends by Libby’s Aromatherapy Essential Oils.

There are eight cold plunges – four doubles and four singles with chilling units by Urban Ice Gear. These baths are set to temperatures between 1 and 9 degrees Celsius.

There is also a breathwork studio, which Horsford sees as the differentiator for Reset – compared to similar contrast therapy facilities on the market, such as Arc.

In an interview with Horsford during an episode of the Sauna Twins Podcast, he explained that he practices conscious connected breathwork, the Wim Hof Method and SOMA techniques.

There is also an alcohol-free bar with different water fountains, adaptogenic elixirs by Three Spirit and teas by Tea Pigs.

The space has changing rooms with amenities by Grown Alchemist and there’s a sound system throughout the facility.

Reset offers three main sessions, which currently have a 20 per cent discount:

A free-roam single session

This is for people who want to explore the sauna, cold plunges and breathwork lounge intuitively without guidance.

This option (which lasts 60 minutes during peak time and 75 minutes off-peak) currently costs £24 (US$30, €28). It includes complimentary drinks.

A guided session

An expert will guide guests through the heat, cold and breathwork techniques on a journey designed to either energise, balance or deeply restore – depending on the time of day.

This 60-minute session includes complimentary drinks and costs £32 (US$41, €37).

An Ember session

Reset offers an experience for a maximum of 45 people designed to foster connection that combines contrast therapy with Music. The two-hour session starts with 20 minutes of contrast therapy together, while music is played by a DJ. Then a facilitator guides guests in a breathwork experience, accompanied by music. There is time for free roam exploration of the sauna and cold facilities again afterwards.

This experience costs £40 (US$51, €47).
