Details of Shangri-La, The Shard revealed
Details of the UK's first Shangri-La - to occupy levels 34 to 52 of The Shard - have been revealed ahead of its opening this summer.
The five-star 202-room property will be London's first elevated luxury hotel and promises panoramic views, including nearby attractions such as the Tate Modern, the Tower of London, St. Paul's Cathedral and Shakespeare's Globe.
Room features will include custom-made beds, iPod docking stations, complimentary high-speed internet access, coffee machines, heated floors, washlet toilets, and a butler service in all suites.
Facilities at the hotel include three river-facing event rooms, an infinity pool and a 24-hour gym.
In addition wining and dining options include a gourmet deli and cake shop on the ground floor, destination restaurant Shard 35, light dining and tea at Lounge, and destination bar GONG.
President and chief executive of Shangri-La International Hotel Management Greg Dogan said: "Shangri-La Hotel, at The Shard, London will be a dramatic introduction of our signature Asian hospitality and style to the United Kingdom."
The Shard was designed by architect Renzo Piano and at 310m (1,016ft) is the tallest building in Western Europe.
