Diana memorial opened
The Queen has today officially opened the memorial fountain for Diana, Princess of Wales, in London’s Hyde Park.
In a speech given at the opening ceremony of the £3.6m fountain, the Queen referred to Diana as a “remarkable human being”.
The Queen said: “I cannot forget the Diana who made such an impact on our lives. Of course there were difficult times, but memories mellow with the passing of the years.”
The memorial was designed by US-based landscape artist, Kathryn Gustafson. Details: www.royal.gov.uk
