Dicoll cutting queues in Birmingham
In a bid to reduce queueing times at its leisure centres and after putting one to the test, Birmingham City Council (BCC) has installed five custom built Dicoll Q-Buster ticketing kiosks.
With membership numbers running to many thousands, both members and non-members alike were queueing in the reception areas just to request a ticket, collect it and go.
Members at the city’s Wyndley, Cocks Moors Woods, Stechford, Northfield and Fox Hollies leisure centres can now sign in automatically, waiting times are reported to have been significantly reduced and BCC is said to be very happy with the outcome.
The council’s Scott Hyde commented: “We chose Dicoll because they were flexible enough to be able to incorporate our current standard printers into the unit. The units were also robust and competitively priced.”
The DDA compliant kiosks incorporate advanced leisure management software from Flex Systems, an LCD touchscreen, a card reader and an Epson thermal printer.
