Disney to launch first Vacation Club resort
Disney Vacation Club is to open its first resort in Oahu, Hawaii in autumn next year.
Called 'Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa', the 8.5-hectare resort will boast 360 hotel rooms and 481 two-bedroom villas.
The resort will also include an 18,000sq ft (1,670sq m) spa designed with families in mind. The resort, built adjacent to a crystal blue lagoon and a white-sand beach, will have two restaurants, a 14,545sq ft (1,350sq m) conference centre and 48,685sq ft (4,520sq m) of outdoor venues.
Located nearby are the existing Ko Olina Marina and a Ted Robinson-designed, 18-hole championship golf course.
The resort is Disney's first that isn't tied to one of its theme parks or cruise lines.
