Divine motivation
The search for health and fitness takes a new twist - a turn to God.
A latest craze in our capital city is Gospel Groove, a one-hour aerobics class class to gospel music.
It's a choreographed workout with high/low routines sometimes with gospel singers present and occasionally a choir. Held on a Sunday morning, the music is inspirational and gives the feeling of having been to church rather than just a fitness class. Whatever you think of the idea, it does you more good, physically at least, than just sitting on a pew. The classes are held at Third Space. Details: +44 (0)20 7439 6333.
Across the pond, the latest craze for waistline-whittling is the Jesus Diet. Based on the eating habits of early Christians, routines are strict but healthy, with plenty of fruit on the menu, along with a fair share of purging and fasting.
