Donbass Arena opens in Donetsk
The new $US400m (£248m, 281m euro) Donbass Arena in Donetsk, Ukraine, has now opened.
Home of 2009 UEFA Cup Winners FC Shakhtar, the 50,000-capacity stadium will host the group stages, quarterfinals and semifinals of the 2012 UEFA European Football Championships, jointly hosted by Ukraine and Poland.
The stadium also offers fans access to a FC Shakhtar museum showcasing the club's history, a NIKE store, a fitness centre and numerous restaurants with panoramic views of the pitch.
Architect Jay Parrish of UK-based company Arup Sport, the creative force Behind City's Manchester Stadium and Bayern Munich's Allianz Arena in Germany, designed the facility.
