Dream team design Madrid hotel and spa
Hotel Puerta América, created by a dream team of 18 architects and designers, is due to open in Madrid in May this year.
The hotel has been funded by Spanish hotel chain The Silken Group, and includes 360 rooms, a restaurant, bar and a spa.
An estimated E70m (£48m, US$92m) has been invested in the property.
The 18 architects – who include Norman Foster, Ron Arad and Zaha Hadid – were each asked to design a separate section of the hotel.
Norman Foster has designed the second floor, using the Basque sculptor Chillida as inspiration.
