Drinkers at the Mailbox go into Denial
A new bar and restaurant operator is joining the Mailbox development in Birmingham. Led by chef Julian Brown, Denial was inspired by a bar in the US tv show, Sex in the City, and serves modern British food that is 'simple, classic and unaffected'. The bar is licensed for 210 people and the restaurant has 100-covers, with the site covering 2,750sq ft in total. Brown believes there is a certain irony to the venue's name as the 'epicurean delights on offer encourage people to indulge'. As well as being inspired by an American tv series, Brown hopes to bring a US-approach to service to Denial, with his degree in Hotel Management from New Hampshire and having spent three years with Marriott Hotels in Boston and San Francisco. Designed by Yuji Suzuki, Denial opens at the end of the month.
