Dublin shortlisted for 2014 design status
Dublin, Ireland, has been confirmed as one of three cities to be shortlisted to become World Design Capital 2014 by the International Council of Societies of Industrial Design (ICSID).
The Irish capital city will now go up against Bilbao, Spain, and Cape Town, South Africa, to receive the designation, which is awarded biannually. Dublin's bid - Pivot Dublin, Turn Design Inside Out - is the result of a collaboration of the four local authorities, with the government assisting at the bid preparatory stage.
The three shortlisted cities have been narrowed down from an initial 56 submissions, and the winner is due to be announced in the autumn.
