Dynamic Earth invests £260,000 in Polar Gallery
Our Dynamic Earth in Edinburgh, UK, is set to revamp its Polar Gallery with a £260,000 grant from the Scottish Executive.
New interactive exhibits will be added to the gallery to educate the public about the importance of the polar regions on the Earth’s environment.
Visitors will be taken on a polar journey to learn about the differences between and similarities shared by the Arctic and Antarctic polar regions.
The development will open – in partnership with the British Antarctic Survey – in spring in order to complement International Polar Year 2007–2008, which officially begins in March 2007.
Our Dynamic Earth’s scientific director Stuart Monro said: “The polar regions are remote areas of the Earth which have profound significance for our climate and ecosystems. This funding will allow us to take on board the need to engage with the public about the dramatic impact these regions have on our lives.” Details: www.dynamicearth.co.uk
